Rooted, Not Rushed

Rooted not rushed

Scripture

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water…”
— Jeremiah 17:7–8

Reflection
The world rewards speed. God cultivates roots.

We often measure spiritual growth by visible progress—how much we’ve done, learned, changed, or achieved. But Scripture describes growth differently: like a tree, not a machine. Slow. Deep. Anchored.

Roots form in hidden places. They develop through seasons of stillness, waiting, and quiet trust. A tree does not rush toward fruit; it remains planted, drawing life from its source.

In the same way, spiritual strength comes not from striving but from abiding. When your trust settles into God rather than circumstances, you become steady even when life shifts around you.

You may not always feel progress. But if you remain rooted in Him, growth is already happening beneath the surface.

Prayer
Lord, anchor my heart in You.
When I feel pressure to rush or prove myself, remind me that true growth comes from remaining in Your presence.
Deepen my trust. Strengthen my roots.
Amen.

Reflection Questions
• Where do I feel rushed right now?
• What would it look like to be rooted instead of hurried?
• How can I rest more deeply in God today?
