Scripture
“Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.”
— Psalm 119:105
Reflection
God’s guidance rarely illuminates the whole road. It lights the step directly before us.
We often long for certainty — clarity about outcomes, direction, and timing. Yet Scripture describes guidance as a lamp, not a floodlight. It reveals enough for movement, not for complete foresight.
This protects us from self-reliance and draws us into relationship. Each step requires trust, attentiveness, and willingness to follow rather than control.
When we expect full visibility, uncertainty feels threatening. But when we accept step-by-step light, uncertainty becomes space where God leads gently and personally.
Faith moves forward with the light it has.
Prayer
God of guidance, illuminate what I need for today.
Help me walk faithfully with the light You give, even when the future remains unseen.
Grow my trust with each step.
Amen.
