God is able. These three words can shift your mindset, renew your hope, and reshape your future. Ephesians 3:20 doesn’t just encourage us to believe for more—it points to the One who is able to do more. God works beyond human boundaries. He operates in abundance. He’s not limited by what you see, feel, or fear.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” —Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)
More Than You Imagine
This verse begins by lifting our eyes from the problem to the Provider: Now to Him who is able… Not just willing, not just aware—able. God has no ceiling. His power isn’t capped by circumstances, statistics, or your past.
Whatever you’re praying for, He can exceed it. Whatever you’re dreaming, He can outdo it. God delights in doing “exceedingly abundantly above” anything we can even think. That’s His nature—overflow.
But notice how this verse ends: “…according to the power that works in us.” God’s ability works through His Spirit in you. You’re not just a spectator of His greatness. You’re a vessel of His power. That power—His Spirit—lives in you.
This means your limits are not His limits. If He put the dream in your heart, He can bring it to pass. The door you’re waiting on? He can open it. The breakthrough you need? He can deliver it. But His method may not match your plan. Trust the outcome to the God who sees it all.
Aligning With God’s Power
We often dream small because we trust small. But when you know who God is, you begin to pray bigger. He’s not just the God of “enough.” He’s the God of “more than enough.”
Still, this verse doesn’t promise He’ll give you everything you want—it promises He’ll do more than you can imagine in line with His will. When your desires align with His heart, there’s no limit to what can happen.
God’s power is already working in you. You don’t need to “earn” His attention or prove your worth. You just need to believe, obey, and stay available. Miracles aren’t about your strength—they’re about His.
So, stop rehearsing your limitations. Start declaring His promises. He is not overwhelmed by your prayers—He welcomes them. He’s able to restore, heal, provide, promote, and transform. Even now, He’s working in ways you can’t see.
And while you’re waiting, remember: what feels like delay is often development. God is preparing you for what He’s already prepared for you.
