Give God the Glory for His Miracles
The phrase “give God the glory” reminds us to acknowledge His hand in every victory. In Acts 12, Peter’s miraculous escape from prison is a powerful example. Despite fervent prayers for his release, the believers were astonished when God answered.
Scripture:
“Peter is at the door!” “You’re out of your mind,” they told her. When she kept insisting that it was so, they said, “It must be his angel.” But Peter kept on knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.” – Acts 12:14-16 (NIV)
First, the early Church faced intense persecution. Herod killed James and imprisoned Peter to suppress the growing movement. Yet, the believers gathered to pray. They knew their only hope was in God’s intervention.
Then, God answered in an extraordinary way. An angel freed Peter, and he went to the house where prayers were being offered. However, when Rhoda announced Peter’s arrival, the believers doubted. They were praying for a miracle but struggled to believe it had happened.
This reaction challenges us. Do we pray with faith but doubt when God answers? Or do we immediately give God the glory for His mighty works?
Celebrating God’s Answers with Gratitude
The believers’ initial disbelief highlights a common struggle. We often attribute answered prayers to human effort or coincidence. For example, we might credit doctors for healing or hard work for success. While these factors play a role, God is the ultimate source of every blessing.
Transitioning to our daily lives, how can we cultivate a habit of giving God the glory? Start by recognizing His hand in every situation. Whether big or small, every good gift comes from Him.
Additionally, express gratitude openly. When someone shares good news, respond with, “Thank You, Lord!” This simple act shifts the focus from human effort to divine provision.
Finally, share testimonies of God’s faithfulness. By recounting His miracles, we encourage others to trust Him and give Him the glory He deserves.
A Prayer of Praise
Heavenly Father, You are the Creator of all things and the giver of every good gift. Help me to always give You glory for the miracles in my life. Teach me to recognize Your hand in every answer to prayer. May my heart overflow with gratitude and praise for Your mighty works. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
By choosing to give God the glory, we honor Him and inspire others to trust in His power. Let Acts 12:14-16 remind you to celebrate His answers with faith and gratitude
