“Be strong” – 2 Chronicles 15:7

“Be strong”—two simple words that carry immense power. In moments of doubt or weariness, God calls us to stand firm. Life’s challenges may weaken us, but His strength sustains us.

“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” —2 Chronicles 15:7 (NIV)

The Call to Courage

God spoke these words through Azariah to King Asa, urging him to remain steadfast. Asa had just led Judah through spiritual revival, tearing down idols and restoring worship. Yet, the battle wasn’t over. Similarly, we face seasons where weariness tempts us to quit.

Transition words like however and therefore help us see God’s promise. He doesn’t ask for perfection—only persistence. When we feel weak, His strength empowers us. Our labor in faith is never wasted.

Reflection Question:

  1. Where in your life do you need God’s strength today?

The Reward of Faithfulness

God assures us that our work matters. Whether in ministry, relationships, or personal growth, faithfulness brings reward. Passive voice is rarely used here because God actively works in us.

Asa’s reforms brought peace to Judah. Likewise, our obedience invites God’s blessings. Transition words like furthermore and consequently highlight this truth. Even when results seem delayed, God sees every effort.

Reflection Question:
2. What area of your life feels unrewarded—how can you trust God’s timing?

Standing Firm in God’s Promise

Doubt whispers that our efforts are futile. Yet, God’s Word remains unchanging. He calls us to be strong because He is our strength. Transition words like nevertheless remind us to press on.

When fatigue sets in, remember: the reward is coming. Our perseverance is an act of worship.

Reflection Question:
3. How can you encourage someone else to “be strong” today?

“Be strong”Prayer

Father, thank You for being my strength. When I feel weak, remind me to stand firm. Help me trust Your promises and not grow weary. Reward my faithfulness as I seek You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
